We’re Official!

April Ortiz

Literally two days after our last newsletter went out asking for prayer regarding the processing of our 501c3 we received our official filed letter. How crazy is that?

One year and five months into ministry we are IRS official! Bless the Lord! We can’t thank all of you enough for your prayers and patience with us during this time. You can now send your donations directly to us and we are presently working on setting up an online method for all those who desire to set up automatic monthly payments.

Facebook users can also choose Strength & Dignity Life Inc. as a personal fundraiser to donate to!

Serving those who serve

A year ago God stirred my heart to put together a Retreat for Pastors Wives & Leaders. This has been on Ozzie and mine heart for years to offer a retreat complete with all we had hoped we had been given during our years of ministry. May 3rd & 4th this idea finally came to fruition. 15 Women from various churches came together for a weekend of “glamping,” good food (Courtesy Anazao Coffee & Bread), rest and unhindered time with Jesus.  But don’t take my word for it, here is what one Pastor’s wife had to say:

”I definitely benefited from quiet, uninterrupted time with the Lord. I got to pray through some things on my heart, and reflect on what the Lord is doing in my life. That is time well spent! I also got to meet and get to know some sweet gals in ministry…”

As a result of this beautiful weekend a wonderful network has formed and S & D Life is planning for next year!

Expanding our Reach… en Español

You read that right we are officially a bilingual operation. After much prayer and recent opportunities that have opened up we have decided to intentionally expand our reach into the Hispanic community. We have even included a Spanish tab on our website and promotional material.

May 31st I had the privilege to be the guest speaker for the Spanish Ministry at First Christian Church in El Centro. And I am happy to report that I gave the entire message without the use of a translator! Now that is cool, but the best part of the night was when women made a commitment to Titus 2 living. By committing to pray for the younger generation and take up the responsibility to mentor and serve them. It was truly an encouraging night.

Ready to Serve

June 24-27 Ozzie and I packed up and head out on the road for the Calvary Pastors Conference. We spent the week at a booth sharing about our ministry and even had a chance to pray for some folks that came by. Some really great connections were made as well as great opportunities one of which is with Calvary Chapel Bible College in Ensenada, BC, Mexico, to teach a block class on Biblical Womanhood and Modesty for incoming students in the coming year.

Coffee Night

August 10th we will be having a Coffee Night Fundraiser at Connection Cafe (450 South Waterman in El Centro). Ozzie will be doing an Anazaõ Coffee & Bread Co. pop-up serving up specialty artisan toast, desserts, and signature cold brew coffee drinks. The evening will start at 6pm with live music, games, and other activities for kids.  Check our social media accounts for news and updates as the event draws closer.
