The month has been anything but inactive.
I’ve heard it said that August is part of the Dog Days of Summer; hot, humid and a time of inactivity. And though the weather was spot on, the month has been anything but inactive.
Proverbs 16:1 reads “The preparations of the heart belong to man, But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.” This verse has been the focus for us this month as much of our time has been spent preparing for the months to come with conferences, teaching opportunities and speaking engagements (not to mention radio and social media platforms).
We can honestly say it feels so good to work! Ozzie and I are so excited about the momentum that is building in the ministry. It’s humbling to see doors opening in places we never imagined God would take us. I know we say it often but its true that this vision is so much bigger than us and we are floored (Apryl’s slang for: in awe and humility of God to the point of wanting to throw myself at His mercy and become part of the ground He walks on)… “floored.”
Strength Dignity Live, our Radio Show, has proven to be a success with people tuning in along with viewers watching live via Instagram and Facebook. We have folks watching and chiming in from in from Iowa, Arizona, and all over Cali! One viewer messaged us:
“I am so glad for the Instagram live story replay! The closing statements about the clothes you wear in response to honoring God and honoring others is so true!! As you mentioned the way we dress is only a part as to how we worship God in our daily lives. And that simple act can start with #wardrobeworship”.
In the midst of working on radio show content and studying for the upcoming Youth Conference, Ozzie and I had a chance to travel up to Gardena, California to meet with Connie Gill of Calvary Chapel South Bay. We met to plan the “Adorned” Womens Event Scheduled for Saturday December 15th with special musical guest Christafari, it is shaping up to be a great event.
I also had the opportunity to meet up with Margy Hill, the author of “How To Be A Godly Woman In Todays Culture” a Bible study I taught a few months back. Among writing other great bible studies she has also founded the Women's Ministry Connection, geared towards training other Women’s ministry Leaders. We are looking forward to work together in the future to train and equip women ministry leaders everywhere.
A unique opportunity has opened up for me to give a workshop at the Imperial Valley College for a Mental Health Summit open to students and professionals. The workshop is titled "Image and Wardrobe in the Workplace” focused on how it affects our professionalism and view of self.
Anazao Baking Co.
For those of you who have been following us since we stepped out into this ministry you know that one of the goals we have as a ministry is to be self sustaining. Our desire is to not have to continually depend on donor support. As we see in scripture Paul a tent maker by trade did what he could to help with ministry. In the same, as former Specialty Coffee Peeps, our desire is to launch a coffee (catering) cart to help offset some expenses. In a effort to make the most of our time, talent and treasures, Ozzie has started Anazao Baking Co. and is presently baking (and selling) artisan sourdough bread and purveying specialty coffees. With opportunities opening up and traveling becoming a regular thing having a flexible enterprise is important.
So as you can see so much is going on and we are thrilled to see what God has in store for us in the coming months. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love and the encouragement you have shown through prayers and financial gifts as we partner together to challenge ladies to live out the scriptures in fashion, faith and fitness.
Once again thank you for your spiritual and financial support to keep this ministry moving forward. We continue to operate as local missionaries of Calvary Kaleo while we go through the process to becoming a Non-Profit. Until we are set up as seperate non-profit, support can be sent to the address below.
Blessings,
Apryl
