Fall is finally here! Another incredible month completed in our journey.
Fall is finally here! And though that makes very little difference where we live, in the Imperial Valley, it means a ton to Ozzie and I! It means another incredible month completed in our journey with Strength Dignity Life.
We hit the ground running September 1st with a Coffee Night Fundraiser at Calvary Cafe in El Centro. Our dear friends at Calvary Chapel El Centro were kind enough to spotlight our ministry and give us the opportunity to share with those in attendance.
We did that a couple ways: We debuted our “Redemption Closet” which features “redeemed” clothing that is fashionable and meets our standard for dressing with dignity as well as being color coded which helps women easily pick outfits that are suited to compliment their natural coloring.
I also offered “Personal Style Breakdowns”. This is where I teach women how to find their personal style, what styles best compliment their bodies. I also had “color swatches” for sale that women can use when they buy clothing to make shopping quicker and easier.
That night we also rolled out our new ministry enterprise Anazao Coffee & Bread Co. : offering a variety of sourdough breads, cinnamon rolls and Nitro Cold brew coffee, which is now available for purchase. You can check out our new online store at anazaocoffeebread.com. All the proceeds from this enterprise go to help us keep this ministry going.
We ended the night by sharing our heart to see women set free through the power of God’s word. Little did we know that God would use our message that night to minister to women who were dealing with hurts from their past. Isn’t it amazing how God can use the most unlikely things to reach His children.
This month we also kicked off the “How to be a godly woman in todays culture” bible study on the book of Titus. I (Apryl) teach every Monday morning 9:30AM- 11:30AM at the Brawley Campus of Christ Community Church (1465 Jones Street), this study goes through October 29th. We have women coming from five different cities in the Imperial Valley, this has been such an encouragement. The best part is hearing how God is challenging these women to live more intentionally and recognize the impact they are able to make in their homes, families and their church. I seriously can’t wait to see what God is going to do through these ladies!
Mujeres Regresemos a las Escrituras 2018
As mentioned in our July newsletter, September 21-22 I served as one of the speakers for “Mujeres Regresemos a las Escrituras 2018” (translated “Women Return to the Scriptures 2018”) a two day conference sponsored by KGBA 1490 AM Spanish Radio Station. I was one of the speakers on the 21st for the youth portion of the conference which happened to be bilingual.
That night I shared from Matthew 4:1-11 on the importance of knowing the Word of God and how the Bible is our weapon against the enemy. As well as knowing the Word helps us to recognize false teachers and helps us to overcome the struggles of this life. That night, girls not only came forward to accept Christ but I also heard from one mother who came up to me afterwards to tell me her daughter asked if God’s word really can help with the problems of life.
That testimony only reenforces why this ministry is so important, we may know the word but if we don’t know how to apply it to our lives we will continue to live in defeat. Please pray that these girls take up the challenge to be women of the word! As a result of this the organizers of this conference asked me to be a speaker at their Women’s Conference in April which will be in Spanish.
